General Maintenance Supervisor

Vacancy: General Maintenance Supervisor at a well-established hospitality and accommodation property in New South Wales, Australia.

Your job is to keep the whole site in working order: the rooms guests stay in, shared spaces, recreation amenities, landscaped grounds and the property's general infrastructure. Guests and staff should find it safe, functional and welcoming every day. The employer wants a hands-on maintenance professional who has worked across multiple trades and copes well in a dynamic setting.

Key Responsibilities

Act quickly on maintenance requests raised by management or guests, and walk the facilities to find what needs attention
Complete general building repairs and planned preventative maintenance
Carry out basic carpentry, painting, plumbing and plastering, plus general handyman tasks
Service guest rooms, amenities, public facilities and recreational spaces
Use lawn mowers, brush cutters, tractors and other equipment to look after gardens, roads, fences and landscaped grounds
Service pools, pumps and general property infrastructure
Assist with renovation, refurbishment and property improvement work
Complete all work to Workplace Health and Safety standards and keep tools, equipment and maintenance records up to date
Contribute to the property's overall presentation and operational efficiency

Requirements & Eligibility

Current driver's licence, or willingness to obtain an Australian driver's licence
Background in general maintenance, building maintenance, facilities management or similar work
Practical ability across multiple trades, with efficient diagnosis and resolution of maintenance issues
Physically fit for manual work, reliable and self-motivated, able to work independently, and good at communication and customer service
White Card is advantageous
Desirable: forklift, tractor or excavator operating experience
Highly regarded: experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting or landscaping
Preferred: previous experience in hotels, resorts, caravan parks or tourism facilities
