Floor Restaurant Manager

A respected Italian hospitality business in New South Wales is hiring an experienced Restaurant Floor Manager.

What they want: a confident hospitality professional who can run the floor well and who genuinely understands Italian food, products and dining culture. You will sit at the centre of the customer experience, keep the restaurant running smoothly, and lead and develop the front-of-house team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep hygiene, cleanliness and food safety at a high standard
  • Head the front-of-house team and take charge of daily restaurant service
  • Run the floor so diners get an efficient and welcoming experience
  • Coordinate restaurant activity with the chef and senior management
  • Allocate staff responsibilities and keep service moving smoothly
  • Deliver consistently high service to every customer
  • Supervise staff and handle operational problems the moment they arise, checking compliance with workplace policies and procedures
  • Train and develop team members to the expected service level
  • Track stock levels and records, deal with suppliers on product orders, and allow for seasonal availability
  • Back up the management team in day-to-day operations
  • Keep the Italian dining experience high-quality and authentic

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant restaurant management or floor management experience
  • Strong grasp of Italian food, cuisine and products; an Italian background or strong knowledge of Italian dining culture is highly regarded
  • A proven record of leading and supervising hospitality staff, with strong leadership and team management capabilities and the ability to train, motivate and coordinate employees
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills, staying professional and organised in a busy restaurant
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace standards, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to commence part-time, with potential progression to full-time
