Industrial operations rely on fitters who can maintain, repair and improve critical equipment. Expect practical, varied work: mechanical maintenance, overhauls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, fault diagnosis and capital improvement projects. You need genuine hands-on experience and a strong record in heavy industrial, workshop or site-based environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Find the cause of equipment problems through mechanical fault diagnosis, then handle breakdown repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance
- Keep industrial machines and mechanical equipment in service through maintenance, repair and full overhauls, covering fixed plant, mobile equipment and their mechanical systems
- Fit and assemble mechanical parts in the workshop and on client sites
- Work from mechanical drawings, specs and technical documents, deciding which materials, tools and methods suit the job
- Check parts for wear, damage and defects; measure them to confirm dimensions, tolerances, alignment and fit
- Prepare or modify metal parts by cutting, grinding, pressing and forming them
- Fit and service hydraulic and pneumatic pipework and fluid power systems, which includes threading, bending and cutting pipe
- Take part in rebuilds, refurbishment, equipment improvement programs, sustainable capital works and mechanical upgrades
- Record what you find during maintenance and share the technical details with the right people
- Stick to established safety procedures and Zero Harm principles
- Liaise with supervisors, tradespeople and site staff so work finishes efficiently, with professional-standard workmanship on every project
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Fitting and Turning trade qualification that is recognised, or another mechanical trade qualification of equal standing
- Minimum 5 years spent doing mechanical fitting work in a relevant setting
- You come from heavy industry, an industrial workshop, manufacturing or site-based maintenance, and you have demonstrably maintained and repaired mechanical equipment with your own hands
- Has worked on fixed plant, mobile equipment, hydraulic or pneumatic systems
- Reads mechanical drawings and technical specifications without difficulty, and is strong at troubleshooting and tracking down mechanical faults
- Handles precision measuring instruments and mechanical tools competently
- Work history that can be demonstrated and verified, relevant to this position, and documents that prove your qualifications and practical trade experience
- Knows workplace health and safety requirements well and is committed to a safety-focused, Zero Harm workplace
- Works effectively alone or in a professional team; past leadership, mentoring or supervisory experience is advantageous
- Holds a current driver's licence and can pass a pre-employment medical and satisfy fitness-for-work requirements
- Ready to work at the workshop and at client sites in Western Australia
