Field Service Technician

This permanent full-time role is for a technician with real, provable experience diagnosing, servicing and repairing Access/EWP equipment in New Zealand. Competitive pay, a company vehicle and a range of employee benefits are part of the package.

Sponsorship is not the starting point. Your verified trade background, practical ability and industry experience are what count. You will be trusted to work in the workshop and in the field, supporting customers and keeping specialised equipment safe, reliable and ready for operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend customer sites to inspect and repair equipment, and handle workshop-based maintenance and repairs
  • Diagnose faults on Access/EWP equipment and complete the mechanical repairs
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers and related machinery
  • Identify mechanical problems and recommend suitable fixes
  • Support customers and internal teams with technical advice, communicating professionally with customers and colleagues
  • Record every service, inspection and repair accurately
  • Keep machinery maintained to safety and operational requirements
  • Work efficiently on different types of equipment and in different service environments
  • Keep building your technical knowledge of the company's equipment range

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must hold a relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, Mechanical Engineering, Machinery or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining machinery
  • At least 2 years' direct experience with Access/EWP equipment
  • Demonstrable experience on petrol and diesel machinery
  • Strong fault-finding and mechanical diagnostic skills
  • Able to show evidence of relevant qualifications and employment experience
  • Full and valid driver's licence held
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work independently in a field-service environment
  • Committed to professional standards and workplace safety
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand or qualify for an appropriate work visa; sponsorship is on offer for overseas candidates who are suitably qualified and whose experience is verified
