Two full-time, ongoing welding positions are open in Perth. The employer is an advanced manufacturer enlarging its facilities because orders for modular critical power infrastructure and AI data centre solutions keep climbing.

The job is structural and module welding, plain and simple. You will fabricate skid bases, frames and enclosures straight from engineering drawings and weld maps, and the standard expected is high-quality, compliant welding on every piece. The working week is 40.5 hours. Shifts run 6:00am to 3:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 6:00am to 12:30pm on Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • GMAW on solid and cored wire, both for module builds and for structural fabrication
  • Structural welding of members including 530UB beams and 150x100 RS rafters, as per engineering drawings and weld maps
  • Positional welding (flat, horizontal, vertical) that follows approved welding procedures (WPS)
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, weld maps and job specifications for every task
  • Fit-up, tacking and steel preparation prior to welding
  • Visual checks of finished welds to confirm they meet specifications
  • Teamwork across the fabrication shop, including general fabrication and assembly, plus a safe, clean, organised work area kept to company and WHS standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • You hold a welding or boilermaking trade qualification
  • You are strong at GMAW (MIG) with solid wire
  • Time on cored wire is highly regarded
  • You can get through a 2F weld test in mild steel
  • You weld flat, horizontal and vertical with competence and confidence
  • Technical drawings and weld maps are no problem for you to read and interpret
  • You are detail-driven and committed to quality work
  • You turn up with your own welding helmet and own hand tools
  • You are reliable and safety-conscious
  • You perform as a strong team player
