Event and Commercial Manager

An organisation running major sporting events in Western Australia is hiring an Event and Commercial Manager in Floreat, Perth. This is a role with genuine responsibility for an experienced events professional.

You will combine event leadership with partnership development, commercial thinking and stakeholder management, taking events from early planning to event-day delivery and supporting the organisation's continued growth.

Your background must show it: organised, accountable, commercially aware, confident with people and willing to own the job from start to finish. Relevant event management experience is essential. Finally, a genuine employer will never ask you to pay for a job offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run operations on event day and make firm decisions while the action is live
  • Be accountable for major sporting events, handling every requirement from the first planning stage right through to delivery
  • Look after dealings with sponsors, partners, suppliers, contractors, volunteers and any other stakeholders
  • Grow commercial and community partnerships and keep them productive
  • Help activate sponsorships and chase fresh partnership openings
  • Push for better participation, revenue, event quality and stakeholder experience
  • Organise people on the ground, including staff, volunteers and contractors, plus logistics and event-day operations
  • Team up with marketing so events are promoted and communicated properly
  • Back up Race Directors in running State Series and Championship events
  • Stay on top of deadlines, resources, logistics and clashing priorities, spotting operational problems and sorting them out practically
  • Play a part in strategic projects and initiatives that help the organisation grow
  • Bring your proven events knowledge to bear so delivery keeps getting better

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant event management experience is essential
  • Demonstrated background in professional event management or a related field
  • Proven record of successfully running events and of owning tasks until practical outcomes are achieved
  • Strong skills in communication and in building relationships
  • Experience dealing with sponsors, partners, suppliers or external stakeholders
  • Commercial mindset, with a grasp of revenue and business growth
  • Excellent organisation and planning, plus close attention to detail
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving, and the ability to deliver in fast-paced, high-pressure settings
  • Confident leader who is ready to get hands-on
  • Strong focus on the experience of customers, members and the community
  • Can juggle multiple projects and priorities at the same time
  • Flexible availability for occasional weekend and extended event hours
  • Ready to work in Western Australia
