Electrician needed in Cromwell, Otago. An established electrical services business wants an experienced tradesperson who can show real hands-on ability and a solid record of past work. The position is full-time and permanent.

Expect commercial jobs, infrastructure projects, streetlighting and essential electrical services in a range of environments. You will be trusted to make your own calls, handle what is assigned to you and deliver quality work every time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stick to electrical regulations, site procedures and safety rules, and keep your tools and equipment safe and in good order
  • Handle installation and maintenance work on commercial sites
  • Take part in infrastructure and development jobs, finishing each installation to what the project calls for
  • Put in, service and look after streetlighting systems
  • Work from drawings, plans and technical specifications
  • Track down and fix electrical faults
  • Operate without close supervision and take ownership of the tasks given to you
  • Turn out top-quality workmanship on every job
  • Keep supervisors, teammates and project stakeholders informed
  • Adjust to changing job demands and settings while helping the team stay dependable and professional

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Legal eligibility to work in New Zealand, or suitability for employer-supported sponsorship
  • Current EWRB Electrical Registration, plus a current New Zealand Practising Licence or eligibility to obtain one
  • 3–5+ years on commercial electrical work
  • Strong practical know-how in installing and maintaining electrical systems
  • A checkable work history in the electrician trade and real electrical skills you can prove in practice
  • Confident working alone and making sound technical calls
  • Strong eye for detail and a firm commitment to quality
  • Good spoken and written communication
  • Proactive, dependable and professional, with a strong commitment to health and safety
  • Able to cooperate within a small team
