Early Childhood Educator

Position: Early Childhood Educator. Location: Maddington, Perth. Employer: an expanding early learning provider that puts real weight on child safety, professional competence and close bonds with the children in its care and their families.

Qualified educators are invited, but claims alone will not be enough. You should be able to show real skills, recognised qualifications and professional conduct, and you should expect employment, compliance and suitability checks.

Day to day, what you know helps create rooms where children feel secure, backed and ready to learn. The team works collaboratively and supports training, quality practice and career progression over the long term. Sponsorship depends on eligibility and on passing probation, so read the conditions carefully.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep children safe through sound supervision, health and hygiene practices
  • Care for children in a way that is responsive and engaging, supporting both learning and wellbeing
  • Earn the trust of children, their families and co-educators
  • Help run play-based programs and the learning activities of each day
  • Put the curriculum into practice according to EYLF V2.0 and/or MTOP
  • Pick up on what each child is interested in, good at and needs developmentally, and respond to it
  • Watch, write up and think critically about each child's development and learning
  • Grow each child's confidence, independence, involvement and feeling of belonging
  • Set up learning spaces that are inclusive, engaging and orderly
  • Cooperate with Room Leaders and the broader teaching team, and keep dealings with families and co-workers professional
  • Stay within the relevant laws, regulations, policies and service procedures
  • Contribute to improving quality and developing the service
  • Promote a respectful, accountable, team-driven workplace

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Willingness to complete all required employment, compliance and suitability checks
  • Qualification: Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an equivalent ACECQA-approved qualification
  • Relevant hands-on experience within early childhood education
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • A current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management training that is current
  • Relevant training in national child safety and child protection
  • An understanding of the EYLF V2.0 and/or MTOP frameworks
  • Knowledge of Australian early childhood education legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication skills, spoken and written
  • Takes a responsible, professional approach to keeping children safe and well
  • Ability to form positive relationships with children and families and to work effectively in a collaborative team
  • Dedicated to keeping professional standards high and improving continually
