Duty Manager

A busy hospitality venue in Sydney, New South Wales is hiring a Duty Manager. Note one point before anything else: candidates need current onshore status in Australia.
The job is to take ownership of venue performance. You will lead staff with confidence, keep daily operations organised, support the team and make sure service, safety and compliance standards are met, all while delivering a consistently strong customer experience.
Your leadership experience must be clearly demonstrated and professionally verifiable. Have genuine evidence of your work history ready, because it will be checked.
Key Responsibilities
- Make sure all operations follow the relevant licensing obligations
- Keep the venue compliant with workplace health, safety and venue requirements
- Own daily venue operations
- Hold service standards where they should be
- Supervise hospitality staff and coordinate shifts so they run smoothly
- Support scheduling, training and ongoing performance development for staff
- Lead from the front and maintain a professional, customer-focused environment
- Track customer satisfaction and deal with complaints effectively
- Coordinate stock control, inventory monitoring and supply orders
- Assist with promotions, functions and special events at the venue
- Review sales activity, staff performance and customer feedback
- Give management accurate operational information and reports
- Identify operational problems and act to protect service quality
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current onshore status in Australia
- Ability to provide genuine evidence of relevant work experience that can be verified
- Demonstrated professional experience in hospitality supervision or management
- Strong practical knowledge of venue operations
- Strong practical knowledge of bar operations
- Proven leadership, including experience managing hospitality teams
- Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to make sound decisions when the hospitality environment is fast-paced
- Experience handling stock management and basic financial responsibilities
- Availability for evenings, weekends and flexible hospitality shifts
- Relevant hospitality or management qualifications are desirable
