Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold strict safety and quality standards on every project and help keep the workplace professional, organised and safety-focused
  • Operate and track horizontal directional drilling equipment
  • Deliver HDD work on infrastructure and utility projects covering power, communications, water, sewer and gas
  • Read project requirements, follow approved drilling procedures and monitor drilling progress so site operations stay efficient
  • Assist with service locating and underground utility identification as required
  • Comply with workplace procedures, project systems and compliance requirements, keeping operational and project documentation accurate
  • Inspect and maintain drilling equipment and report faults promptly
  • Cooperate with drilling crews, supervisors and other site personnel
  • Communicate clearly and professionally on site, and act appropriately when you identify potential operational or safety issues
  • Keep workmanship consistent from one project to the next

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Prepared to relocate to Australia for long-term employment
  • Proven professional experience in directional drilling or drill tracking
  • Strong hands-on background in horizontal directional drilling operations, backed by evidence of previous HDD employment and experience
  • Relevant industry qualifications, licences or accreditations; service locating experience is advantageous
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety
  • A reliable, consistent employment background and a strong, dependable work ethic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective team member on a professional site, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to follow structured systems, procedures and documentation requirements
  • Professional approach to quality, safety and compliance, and the ability to adapt to different project requirements and working environments
  • Overseas candidates with relevant and demonstrable HDD experience are encouraged to apply
