Diesel Mechanic

A well-established farming business in New South Wales is hiring a skilled Diesel Mechanic. This is a role with genuine responsibility for someone with proven technical capability, reliability and a problem-solving approach.

You will not just be ticking off routine repairs. The job is about taking ownership of machinery performance across advanced agricultural equipment, modern fleet systems and innovative farming technology, and being recognised for it on a large-scale operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond fast to breakdowns and carry out onsite field repairs
  • Diagnose complex faults across tractors, harvesters, sprayers, trucks and other farm equipment
  • Take charge of the reliability and performance of a mixed agricultural machinery fleet
  • Handle preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and mechanical improvements, inspecting machinery condition and recommending repairs, replacements and upgrades
  • Apply your technical knowledge to keep downtime low through critical farming periods
  • Keep accurate service records, maintenance schedules and repair documentation
  • Run the workshop: organisation, tools, parts availability and maintenance processes
  • Give operators technical advice and operational support, and work with farm management to lift equipment efficiency and reliability

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic or equivalent proven mechanical experience, including demonstrated work on agricultural machinery, heavy vehicles or similar equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
  • Able to manage repairs and maintenance independently, with a practical problem-solving mindset and attention to detail
  • Reliable work ethic and commitment to high-quality workmanship
  • Clear communication with operational teams
  • Willing to work in a regional New South Wales agricultural environment
  • Verified trade qualifications and employment history preferred
  • Sponsorship applicants need English language evidence and skills assessment documents, and must be able to meet Australian migration and sponsorship requirements
