Key Responsibilities

  • Take part in daily milking on a rotary dairy system and handle and move cattle safely and efficiently
  • Monitor the health and wellbeing of livestock and pick out any animals that need additional care
  • Support cows at calving, assist with newborn calves, and feed and care for calves according to farm routines
  • Operate feeding equipment and distribute feed to the herd
  • Assist with dairy operations at multiple farm locations
  • Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance around the dairy, plus any general farm duties required
  • Maintain safe, hygienic working conditions and stick to established animal welfare and workplace procedures
  • Cooperate with farm management and other staff
  • Complete scheduled tasks accurately and within the required timeframes

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Must hold a valid driver's licence, with access to your own vehicle
  • Willingness to live and work in Victoria
  • Previous work on a dairy farm or with livestock
  • Practical experience handling cattle
  • Knowledge of basic dairy routines and animal care
  • Milking experience will be highly regarded
  • Ability to work safely near large livestock and farm machinery
  • Physical capacity to stand, walk and perform manual tasks for extended periods
  • A strong work ethic, willingness to use your initiative, and a reliable, punctual, self-motivated approach
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, plus strong organisation and time management
  • Ability to follow instructions and established farm procedures
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
