Coded Welder needed for long-term work in Kwinana, Perth WA. The job involves demanding industrial maintenance and fabrication, so solid practical skills are key.

You will cover fixed plant maintenance, structural fabrication, repairs, modifications, shutdowns and breakdown activities. The employer wants genuine hands-on experience, recognised qualifications and the technical ability to meet coded welding requirements, plus a strong employment history with evidence of your welding and fabrication work.

Key Responsibilities

Follow site safety procedures and the required welding standards
Weld to code on structural steel and pressure pipe, including 6G welding and fabrication to the required standards
Repair and modify fixed plant, including pumps, thickeners and other industrial equipment
Build and repair piping, tanks, chutes, hoppers and ductwork, and fix structural supports while replacing worn or damaged components
Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
Handle planned preventative work as well as corrective and breakdown maintenance
Take part in shutdowns and scheduled maintenance campaigns
Fabricate in the workshop and on site
Deliver accurate, safe, high-quality workmanship on every task

Requirements & Eligibility

Sponsorship is available for eligible onshore candidates
Demonstrated Coded Welder experience and a strong practical background in welding and fabrication
Ability to pass a 6G weld test
Qualification: Cert III Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant Engineering Trade qualification
Highly desirable: fixed plant maintenance experience
Verifiable employment history in welding and fabrication, with evidence of relevant qualifications and trade experience
Current Working at Heights certification and current Confined Space certification, both obtained within the previous 2 years
A current driver's licence
Fit to pass a pre-employment medical
Serious commitment to safety, quality and professional workmanship
