Pay: $70,000–$80,000 per annum plus superannuation, full-time.

A Queensland hospitality operation needs an experienced Chef to support the launch of a new restaurant. You must bring practical skills, reliability and kitchen leadership.

The employer will focus on proven culinary professionals who can show strong commercial kitchen experience, consistent food preparation standards and effective teamwork. If you have genuine hands-on experience and can take responsibility in a busy kitchen, you are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Keep every kitchen practice in line with food safety rules
Keep the kitchen spotless and the working conditions safe
Cook dishes from the menu exactly to the set recipes and standards
Hold flavour, plating and portions steady from plate to plate
Keep prep and service running without delays
Direct kitchen activity during rush periods and stay in clear contact with the rest of the kitchen and floor team
Put forward ideas for new menu items and better recipes
Oversee junior cooks and teach them the job
Track how stock is used, flag ordering needs, and help rotate stock so less goes to waste
Help hold down kitchen costs and keep the operation efficient

Requirements & Eligibility

You have at least 3 years of professional Chef experience
A relevant cookery qualification is preferred
You can show real hands-on work in a commercial kitchen
You understand how food is prepared and cooked to procedure
You know food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
You can juggle competing priorities in the kitchen
You work well in a team and communicate clearly
You are dependable and committed
You keep quality high even in high-volume service
You can travel for interstate training when required
Experience with Mexican cuisine is advantageous; suitably qualified applicants can be considered for sponsorship
