Stanley, Devonport and North West Tasmania. Full-time Chef role for an experienced Commercial Chef with a proven background in professional food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities
- Organise preparation needs ahead of every service period and keep mise-en-place effective across assigned sections
- Prepare and cook a broad range of dishes to established standards, plating them with consistent attention to appearance, portion control and quality
- Manage a kitchen section independently during busy service
- Apply professional cooking techniques, keep services consistent and monitor food quality from preparation through to presentation
- Support menu planning, seasonal offerings and new dish development
- Assist with purchasing, ordering and stock management, and maintain correct food storage, stock rotation and temperature controls
- Track ingredient usage and act practically to reduce wastage
- Hold high standards of kitchen cleanliness and personal hygiene in line with Australian food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements
- Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house personnel and communicate clearly for accurate, timely food service
- Help keep operations smooth when the kitchen is under high volume
- Train, guide and support junior team members and pass on appropriate cooking and preparation methods to less-experienced staff
- Follow workplace recipes, procedures and operational standards, and contribute to a respectful, reliable, customer-focused kitchen culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (recognised) or an equivalent qualification
- Minimum five years of relevant commercial kitchen experience, with strong, demonstrable professional cooking experience
- Evidence of relevant qualifications and employment history that you can provide
- Proven ability to run a kitchen section during service and to work confidently without supervision in a commercial kitchen
- Practical understanding of menu development and seasonal dishes, plus knowledge of stock control, food storage and kitchen wastage management
- Solid grasp of hygiene and food safety procedures
- Ability to deliver consistent quality under pressure
- Strong teamwork and communication capabilities, with the ability to supervise, train or support junior kitchen staff
- Good time management, organisation and eye for detail
- Professional attitude and commitment to workplace standards
- Availability for evenings, weekends and public holidays, and you must meet the applicable Australian employment and sponsorship eligibility requirements
