Chef Manager

Chef Manager wanted for a residential aged care kitchen on the Far North Coast of NSW. You will be responsible for kitchen operations, so this role needs someone with a real track record.

The employer wants an experienced Chef who can prove their qualifications, their practical expertise and their ability to lead a team while keeping standards consistently high. Culinary skill on its own is not enough; it has to be backed by real experience, strong leadership and a professional history.

Meals must be nutritious, enjoyable and suited to each resident's individual needs, and the kitchen must run efficiently and comply with food safety rules. Chefs in Nigeria and other countries should have certificates and work records ready to be checked.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enforce food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures
  • Ensure the kitchen meets relevant workplace and food safety standards
  • Manage daily kitchen operations and direct food preparation
  • Lead, supervise and back the kitchen staff, building a positive and professional team culture
  • Plan and deliver quality meals for residents, monitoring presentation, consistency and food quality
  • Tailor meals to dietary, nutritional and individual requirements
  • Organise kitchen schedules and the daily workflow
  • Use food, equipment and kitchen resources efficiently
  • Find and implement improvements in kitchen and dining operations
  • Work with care and support teams and build respectful relationships with residents, families and colleagues

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Recognised Chef qualification, backed by supporting documents that can be verified
  • Professional Chef experience you can demonstrate, including previous kitchen supervision or management
  • Experience in high-volume or large-scale catering operations
  • Solid knowledge of food safety and HACCP requirements
  • Ability to cook varied, nutritious and high-quality meals
  • Understanding of nutritional and dietary requirements
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • A reliable, organised approach to managing a kitchen
  • Aged care, healthcare, hospitality or institutional catering experience is advantageous
  • Ability to produce evidence of qualifications and relevant work experience
  • Ability to satisfy applicable Australian employment and visa requirements
  • Sponsorship by the employer is available for eligible international candidates
