An established hospitality team in New South Wales needs a qualified and experienced Chef for a quality dining and events operation. The kitchen runs à la carte dining alongside large-scale functions, including weddings, corporate events, private functions and special occasions.

Key Responsibilities
- Keep kitchen hygiene and food safety standards strict at all times
- Prepare and cook quality dishes for à la carte services and functions
- Deliver menus and daily kitchen requirements alongside the Head Chef
- Assist with menu planning, development and costing
- Select, inspect and prep fresh ingredients to the required standard
- Follow correct food storage, stock rotation and ingredient handling procedures, and help with stock ordering and inventory control
- Monitor preparation for consistent quality and presentation
- Reduce waste with good preparation, portion control and storage
- Use suitable cooking techniques to get the right result on every dish
- Perform well during busy restaurant and function services
- Help coordinate the kitchen workflow so service stays smooth
- Guide and support junior staff when required, delegating suitable tasks based on team capability
- Identify efficiency improvements in the kitchen and communicate recommendations
- Cooperate with the wider hospitality team to maintain excellent guest experiences
- Keep up knowledge of local and regional produce and the right handling methods
Requirements & Eligibility
- Must satisfy relevant Australian employment and visa requirements
- Visa sponsorship available for suitable overseas candidates without Australian work rights
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification
- At least 3 years of relevant professional kitchen experience, including strong commercial cooking and food preparation
- Experience in quality dining environments; fine dining experience is advantageous, and regional or rural hospitality experience is also advantageous
- Good knowledge of hygiene, food safety and kitchen procedures, and the ability to work with seasonal and fresh produce
- Strong attention to presentation, consistency and food quality
- Works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen with strong multitasking and time management
- Stays composed and makes effective decisions under pressure
- Good teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to help supervise and delegate tasks to junior staff
- Professional attitude and commitment to high hospitality standards
- Genuine interest in a long-term culinary career in Australia
