Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare pizza dough and toppings that meet the required standards
  • Run the pizza ovens and control cooking times
  • Own the kitchen section you are assigned to
  • Cook gastro-style and pub-style menu items, working across gastro dining, functions and pizza service as required
  • Complete daily mise en place and preparation, organising the ingredients and equipment that service needs
  • Hold presentation and portion sizes steady
  • Watch food quality throughout every service
  • Rotate stock and track ingredient requirements
  • Stick to food safety, hygiene and cleanliness procedures and hold professional standards in all kitchen operations
  • Keep work flowing efficiently in busy periods
  • Speak clearly and effectively with chefs and the wider kitchen team
  • Support junior staff with practical guidance where required
  • Contribute to kitchen improvement initiatives and menu development

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven pizza-making experience, dough preparation and oven management included
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial kitchens
  • Previous work as a Chef de Partie or in a comparable role
  • Strong experience in gastro, pub or similar dining
  • Approximately 3–5 years in professional kitchens preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a kitchen section independently
  • Strong knowledge of commercial food preparation and cooking methods
  • Understands hygiene and food safety standards
  • Can hold quality and consistency through busy services
  • Professional conduct and presentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication plus good time-management and organisation skills
  • Reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively in a team
  • Leadership and mentoring experience: desirable
  • Professional references required for verification of your previous employment and experience
  • Currently based in Australia, with availability to commence within a reasonable timeframe
  • Sponsorship or nomination transfer for eligible candidates, subject to successful probationary performance and business approval
