Key Responsibilities
- Prepare food for your allocated section of the kitchen
- Handle service for that section
- Produce dishes that consistently meet the required quality, presentation and portion control
- Support senior chefs so the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently
- Put forward menu and specials ideas
- Recommend ways to use seasonal and locally available produce
- Supervise and assist junior kitchen staff day to day
- Hold high standards of cleanliness, food handling and hygiene
- Comply with food safety procedures and relevant workplace requirements
- Track ingredient and stock usage and report what needs replenishing
- Help get ready for busy service periods, functions and special events
- Join team discussions and suggest improvements to kitchen operations
- Stay professional, cooperative and positive under the pressure of a demanding hospitality setting
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven Chef de Partie experience, or experience in a comparable professional kitchen role, within a busy or high-volume hospitality environment
- Equivalent professional training or a recognised culinary qualification
- Strong practical cooking and food preparation skills, plus a creative approach backed by genuine commitment to quality
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen compliance standards
- Able to hold consistency and quality during busy service periods and to supervise or support junior kitchen staff
- Strong communication, teamwork, organisation and time-management skills
