Position: Chef Manager with an established care organisation in New South Wales. You will take charge of kitchen operations and head a team that serves quality meals to older residents.
The employer wants a qualified, capable chef who is ready to move past routine cooking into leadership, menu planning, food quality, compliance and kitchen performance.

Key Responsibilities
- Enforce strict food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards in the kitchen
- Oversee the kitchen's daily operation as the person with overall responsibility
- Direct and coordinate kitchen staff so service standards stay consistent
- Train, mentor and support the kitchen team
- Plan, prepare and supervise nutritious resident meals
- Write menus that match nutritional requirements and resident preferences
- Check preparation, cooking, portion control and presentation, and get meals out on time and at the right quality
- Control stock, ordering and food supply, and help keep food costs and waste low
- Work with care teams on special diets and individual meal requirements
- Act on resident feedback with improvements where appropriate, and propose new ideas for menus, processes and the dining experience
- Keep accurate kitchen records and all required documentation, and run a safe, efficient kitchen that complies with relevant regulations
- Build a respectful, positive kitchen culture where people work as a team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Holder of a recognised qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Strong track record as a Chef Manager, Head Chef or in a senior culinary role, plus experience managing a commercial, institutional or large-scale catering operation
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and supervise staff
- In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements
- Capable of planning and producing nutritious, varied and high-quality meals
- Understanding of special dietary and nutritional needs
- Good organisation and strong kitchen management ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can work independently while still collaborating well with other teams
- Committed to keeping resident care and service standards high
- Previous aged care, healthcare, hospitality or large-scale catering experience is advantageous
