Qualified chefs with commercial kitchen experience they can prove are wanted for a busy professional kitchen in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

Practical ability is the focus. You will run a high-volume wok station confidently, produce consistent Asian dishes and support other kitchen sections when required. Reliable technique, strong kitchen discipline and the ability to hold standards during busy service are expected.

Key Responsibilities

Take charge of wok-station prep and cooking throughout service, producing a range of Asian dishes with sound commercial techniques
Hold flavour, portion size, presentation and quality steady from plate to plate
Step in on grill, fryer, pan and general prep when required, and adapt as service needs shift between sections
Finish prep efficiently before service and keep it moving during service
Stick to food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures, and keep workstations clean and organised
Assist with stock checks, rotation and inventory, using ingredients carefully to limit waste
Coordinate closely with chefs and other kitchen staff

Requirements & Eligibility

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent recognised qualification, backed by verifiable evidence of relevant qualifications and employment experience
Minimum two years of relevant commercial wok-station experience
Demonstrated hands-on Asian cuisine preparation
Strong practical ability on the wok, grill, fryer, pan and preparation areas, with consistent standards held during high-pressure service
Knowledge of commercial food safety and hygiene procedures
Professional, dependable and cooperative, working effectively within a fast-paced kitchen team
Availability for rotating rosters covering evenings, weekends and public holidays
