A growing hospitality business in NSW is hiring a full-time Chef. The kitchen needs someone capable and experienced who can strengthen the team from day to day.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Prepare and cook Japanese-inspired dishes that meet established quality standards, applying the right techniques for consistent results
- Complete daily food prep, inspecting and preparing ingredients so everything meets quality standards and is ready for service
- Maintain flavour, food quality, portion sizes and presentation
- Work efficiently across different kitchen sections during prep and service
- Coordinate cooking and preparation so meals are delivered on time
- Follow established recipes, procedures and portion controls
- Put forward ideas for new dishes, seasonal offerings and menu updates
- Keep workstations clean, organised and service-ready, and manage prep priorities when volumes are high
- Monitor ingredient usage, report stock requirements and assist with ordering to keep supplies at appropriate levels
- Communicate effectively with chefs and other hospitality staff
- Support a disciplined, positive and professional kitchen culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Must satisfy Australian employment and visa eligibility requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in professional kitchens
- Relevant qualification in culinary arts, commercial cookery or equivalent
- Proven ability to work in a commercial restaurant environment
- Japanese cuisine experience will be viewed favourably
- Strong practical knowledge of cooking and preparing food
- Understanding of professional hygiene and food safety practices
- Can maintain consistency and attention to detail when service is busy
- Strong skills in planning, organisation and time management
- Can work effectively without constant supervision and collaborate with the wider kitchen and restaurant team
- Professional, reliable and quality-focused attitude, with good communication skills at work
- Availability for rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Able to provide verifiable evidence of relevant qualifications and experience
