Key Responsibilities

Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Prepare and cook meals to menu specifications and kitchen standards
Maintain food quality, consistency, portion control and presentation
Complete ingredient prep and mise en place ahead of and during service, managing cooking tasks efficiently to meet service needs
Support senior kitchen staff with daily operations and service, and work with the kitchen team to keep the workflow organised
Check ingredients and report stock shortages or requirements
Store food correctly and use appropriate handling practices
Keep food preparation and cooking areas clean, hygienic and orderly
Handle customer requests about meals and preparation professionally, and assist with general kitchen duties for efficient service

Requirements & Eligibility

Minimum 1–2 years of commercial cooking experience, including previous work in a busy hospitality, restaurant or pub-style kitchen
Ability to turn out a range of meals consistently and efficiently
Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe food-handling practices, and the ability to follow recipes, kitchen procedures and instructions accurately
Good time management and the ability to prioritise during service
Reliable work ethic, a positive team-focused attitude and clear communication with kitchen colleagues
Food safety certification is advantageous
Availability for flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
