CAT Product Support Advisor

Alongside site maintenance teams, you will apply diagnostics, fault-finding and Caterpillar equipment knowledge to pinpoint problems, recommend solutions and strengthen maintenance practices, helping mining operations improve equipment reliability, availability and productivity. Expect a mix of advisory work and practical support, depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with site safety requirements, procedures and environmental standards, working FIFO rosters and extended shifts
  • Diagnose faults on Caterpillar heavy mobile equipment, using fault-finding to cut downtime
  • Investigate performance issues and work out the corrective action needed
  • Guide site maintenance personnel with specialist technical advice
  • Inspect equipment for potential reliability concerns
  • Support preventative maintenance planning and implementation, along with planned maintenance and component replacement
  • Assist on warranty-related matters with technical input
  • Evaluate equipment condition and propose maintenance improvements
  • Feed technical input into fleet optimisation, spot opportunities to raise reliability, availability and operating efficiency, and join continuous improvement projects at customer operations
  • Step in with hands-on technical support when operations require it
  • Keep service and technical records clear and accurate, and help with technical training and knowledge transfer
  • Build positive working relationships with customers and site-based teams

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Willing to work FIFO rosters and 12-hour shifts
  • Recognised Mobile Plant Trade Certificate or an equivalent international qualification
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining heavy mobile plant, gained in mining, field service or large-scale equipment maintenance
  • Strong, practical Caterpillar machinery experience: highly regarded
  • Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Can analyse equipment problems and recommend effective solutions
  • Sound knowledge of preventative maintenance and equipment reliability principles, and able to combine advisory responsibilities with hands-on work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional with customers and stakeholders
  • Works independently and within a maintenance team, with commitment to safety and compliance in remote mining environments
  • High-risk work licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging or Working at Heights: advantageous
  • Overseas applicants with suitable qualifications and experience may be considered for visa sponsorship
