Here is a solid trade opening in Auckland. A respected family-owned flooring business, part of a national flooring network, wants an experienced Carpet Layer who plans to stay. It has earned its name through quality work and fair treatment of customers and staff.
The company is an accredited employer, so it can provide sponsorship under New Zealand's Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV).
You report to one base daily and handle installs for the company and a sister store. Expect homes and commercial sites, and full responsibility from prep to finish. The schedule is Monday to Friday with a couple of Saturdays per month. You will also lead by example for an apprentice.

Key Responsibilities
- Install carpet on residential and commercial sites and deliver a quality finish every time
- Handle uplift and floor prep, then lay to industry and manufacturer standards
- Run your own jobs with confidence and deal professionally with customers at their homes, including for the sister store
- Lead by example and mentor the apprentice on the tools
- Start each working day from one base
Requirements & Eligibility
- At least 3 years' hands-on carpet laying experience
- Strong experience with textured and wool carpets
- Confident with floor prep, uplift and installing to industry and manufacturer standards
- A high standard of finish and pride in your output
- Reliable and organised; able to run your own jobs
- Polite and professional with customers in their homes
- Ready to mentor and support an apprentice
- Able to work a couple of Saturdays a month
- Holder of a Full NZ driver licence
- Willing to work from one base each day
