A growing construction company in New South Wales, Australia needs an experienced Carpenter / Direct Stick Flooring Installer. This is full-time, long-term employment on a variety of residential and commercial projects, with opportunities to progress.

Key Responsibilities

Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times and keep the work environment clean and safe
Do general carpentry on residential and commercial projects
Put down direct stick engineered timber floors to a high standard, working safely and efficiently
Take accurate measurements, then cut and fit timber and other building materials
Interpret plans, specifications and project requirements correctly
Deliver high-standard workmanship with close attention to detail
Run and maintain all carpentry tools and equipment
Work independently and also alongside the project team
Assist with project planning and task coordination where required, and complete projects on schedule
Give professional service and hold each project to proper quality standards

Requirements & Eligibility

Holds a current driver's licence
Preferred: a minimum of 3 years working in carpentry
Highly regarded: hands-on installation of direct stick engineered timber flooring
Preferred: Carpentry trade qualification, or experience that is equivalent
Pays strong attention to detail
Committed to workmanship of a high quality
Can work alone and as a member of a team
Positive mindset and keen to learn new skills and develop them
Excellent at organising work and managing time
Dependable, on time and committed to doing high-quality work
Able to move between residential and commercial construction projects
Solid understanding of safe practices under workplace health and safety rules
