Experienced Carpenters are needed in Christchurch, New Zealand. The hiring company is a New Zealand-owned workforce contractor, and the work is full-time on commercial, residential and industrial construction projects.
This role is for people who already know the trade well. You should have used different construction methods, and you will be expected to frame, fix, roof and clad to a high standard while keeping the site safe. You will be working beside experienced crews, so accuracy and pace both count.
Here is what is on the table. Contracts are full-time with consistent hours, projects run short or long term, and there is potential for permanent employment. On top of that, visa sponsorship opportunities are available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general carpentry, framing and fixing, plus other construction duties across a range of sites.
- Install roofing, and repair and maintain roofs and roofing systems.
- Measure, cut and assemble timber, framing, roofing materials and components, then install them.
- Handle exterior cladding, architraves and steel stud work.
- Read and work to construction drawings, plans, specifications, measurements and instructions.
- Work safely and efficiently without letting the standard of your workmanship slip.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Relevant construction experience on residential or commercial projects, a strong work history and references to back up your experience and work standard.
- Ideally, solid experience in general carpentry, framing, fixing, roofing, exterior cladding, architraves and steel stud work, and in reading construction drawings, plans, specifications and measurements.
- Advantageous: Site Safe and any other relevant trade tickets and licences.
- Your own hand and power tools are an advantage, and a Drivers license with your own vehicle is advantageous.
