Key Responsibilities

Build brick and block walls to the lines, levels and specifications required
Interpret building plans, drawings and project specifications, then set out the brickwork accurately before work begins
Mix mortar to the correct consistency
Check alignment with spirit levels and measuring equipment and keep the brickwork accurately aligned
Operate brick cutting machines and related trade equipment
Deliver a quality finish, and identify and correct any alignment or workmanship faults
Comply with construction procedures and workplace safety requirements
Keep tools, equipment and work areas in good order
Cooperate with supervisors and other trades so assigned tasks are finished efficiently and within project schedules

Requirements & Eligibility

Recognised Bricklaying trade qualification: minimum Certificate III or equivalent
Professional bricklaying experience that can be demonstrated
Strong hands-on understanding of commercial and residential construction
Can read construction plans and understand them
Track record of accurate, consistent brickwork
Competent with levels, measuring tools and brick cutting equipment
Understands construction workplace health and safety practices
Reliable, professional and committed; works independently and as part of a construction team
Physically capable of the duties of bricklaying
Can provide evidence supporting relevant qualifications and work experience
Overseas-qualified Bricklayers with suitable experience are welcome; sponsorship is available for suitable candidates after an assessment of qualifications and experience
