The job is practical: structural steel fabrication and welding, using drawings and established specifications to deliver accurate, quality work safely and efficiently. Reliable workmanship is what the employer wants to see.

Key Responsibilities
- Report safety concerns, defects or material problems without delay
- Carry out structural steel fabrication and assembly
- Produce MIG welds that meet project and quality specifications
- Work from engineering drawings and fabrication plans
- Measure, mark, cut and prepare steel parts
- Fit and assemble fabricated steel sections with accuracy
- Inspect welds and finished components for quality and accuracy
- Operate workshop and fabrication tools safely and correctly
- Comply with project specifications, workplace procedures and safety requirements, using the right PPE at all times
- Cooperate with other trades and project personnel
- Keep the work area clean, organised and free from hazards
- Meet production schedules and deadlines so structural steel projects are completed efficiently
Requirements & Eligibility
- Visa sponsorship is available for the right applicant; those requiring it may be considered subject to applicable eligibility requirements
- Holder of a recognised trade qualification: Boilermaker, Fitter, Cert III Engineering & Fabrication or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in structural steel fabrication
- Strong MIG welding ability
- Can read and interpret engineering drawings
- Holds a current White Card
- Has own tools and appropriate PPE
- Strong focus on accuracy, workmanship and safety
- Able to work independently and contribute effectively within a team
- Reliable attendance and professional work ethic
- EWP ticket (advantageous), Working at Heights certification (advantageous) and Forklift licence (advantageous)
- Able to commence work immediately
- Available for Monday-to-Friday shifts
