An industrial services employer in Western Australia with a solid track record is expanding its workshop team. It needs skilled Blasters and Painters who have proven industrial experience.
The work is hands-on. Here, surface preparation counts every bit as much as the final coat. You will use modern workshop equipment and industrial paint systems on projects built to high standards in tough industries.

Key Responsibilities
- Leave every work area tidy, orderly and safe
- Grit blast industrial items and prepare their surfaces
- Hit the specified cleanliness grades, Sa 2.5 and Sa 3, when blasting
- Get substrates and materials ready to receive protective coatings
- Do not begin coating until the surface is as clean as required
- Put on polyurethane, high-build epoxy, zinc-rich primer and other industrial coating systems
- Spray with conventional and airless spray-painting gear
- Use wet film gauges to keep each coat at its required thickness
- Handle stripe coats and any other coating stage in the spec
- Stick to QA/QC steps from the first blast to the last coat
- Inspect and service the blasting and painting gear
- Fix faults in the blast room and with blasting equipment
- Load blasting trolleys and unload them
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3 years in relevant industrial blasting and painting roles
- It is essential that you have workshop experience in industrial surface treatment
- A proven record of abrasive blasting finished to Sa 2.5 and Sa 3 standards
- You understand industrial paints and protective coating systems
- You have used polyurethanes, high-build epoxies and zinc-rich primers
- Confident on conventional and airless spray gear
- Accurate application of coatings to the thickness specified
- You understand coating quality control and wet film measurement, and know the complete process from surface preparation to coating
- Strong at troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, with a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to consistent workmanship
- Forklift licence is desirable
- Having operated overhead or gantry cranes is desirable
