Key Responsibilities
- Find and fix general mechanical faults on customer vehicles
- Carry out vehicle services and planned maintenance work
- Inspect brakes and handle any repairs or replacements
- Repair suspension systems and fit upgrades
- Look over vehicles to identify what maintenance is required
- Operate hand tools and diagnostic equipment properly
- Deliver repairs to a high workmanship standard and keep your work practices accurate and professional
- Comply with workshop safety and operating procedures
- Keep customers clearly informed about faults and the repairs their vehicles need
- Get jobs done efficiently, whether working alone or with the wider workshop team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as a motor mechanic
- A track record in automotive employment that you can demonstrate
- Employment history that can be checked and verified
- Relevant automotive trade qualification is preferred
- Practical, hands-on skill in mechanical servicing and repairs
- Hold a valid driver's licence
- Able to deal with customers in a professional manner
- Reliable and punctual in your work
- Motivated to do the job well, with sharp attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Capable of working alone and within a team
- Prepared to provide evidence supporting your qualifications and experience
