Aluminium Fabricator

Aluminium Fabricators are needed by a growing manufacturer in Hawera, Taranaki. This is a role for someone with real workshop time behind them, who turns out accurate, quality work every shift and is at home with aluminium components, production machinery and detailed assembly.
The team is structured and produces window and door solutions for residential and commercial projects. Practical experience, close attention to detail and following established processes are what keep production and quality standards where they should be.

Key Responsibilities
- Follow the documented manufacturing procedures on every job
- Measure materials and components precisely, then cut aluminium and timber with the workshop saws and machinery
- Drill and punch components with accuracy
- Fabricate aluminium components for windows and doors
- Assemble finished aluminium products so they meet the required specifications
- Fit glass and wedge units during production
- Quality-check completed units for accuracy
- Prepare finished products for dispatch and help with product deliveries when required
- Operate all workshop tools, equipment and machinery safely
- Keep workstations, equipment and vehicles clean and in order
- Hold production and quality standards steady and get assigned work done within the required timeframes
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and cooperate with other members of the production team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Eligibility for New Zealand employment or applicable sponsorship support
- At least 12 months of hands-on aluminium fabrication work, backed by practical experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment that you can prove is genuine and relevant
- Confident use of fabrication tools and machinery, including measuring and cutting materials accurately and drilling, punching and assembling aluminium components
- Understanding of quality-control requirements, plus strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to follow established production procedures, with a willingness to learn and adapt to workplace processes
- Physically capable of lifting items over 20kg
- Reliable, punctual and responsible
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
- Able to work productively in a team, and independently when required
