Accountant needed at a growing care services organisation in Western Australia. This role is for an experienced professional who pays close attention to detail and can confidently own complex accounts receivable and financial reporting processes.
What you will handle:
- NDIS and brokerage receivables
- Accounting support for the Support at Home function
- Funding claims, reconciliations, month-end reporting and compliance

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and the right internal controls
- Take full ownership of NDIS and brokerage accounts receivable
- Run the whole cycle from quotes and service agreements to invoicing, claims and payment collection
- Review funding claims and sort out those that are rejected, delayed or underpaid
- Allocate receipts, reconcile client accounts, funding payments and remittances, and follow up outstanding accounts and debts appropriately
- Reconcile accounts receivable control accounts and investigate any discrepancies
- Prepare journals and adjustments arising from reconciliations
- Back the Support at Home receivables function with accounting support
- Assist with complex account enquiries and client budget reconciliations
- Validate services, funding arrangements, agreements and invoices together with operational teams
- Complete bank, balance sheet, general ledger and intercompany reconciliations, and prepare accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other accounting entries
- Support financial close at month end and year end
- Assist in preparing profit and loss statements, balance sheets and cash-flow reports
- Contribute to financial analysis and management reporting
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and monitoring of expenditure
- Support BAS, GST, payroll tax and other statutory compliance obligations
- Contribute to improving receivables processes, reporting and accounting systems
Requirements & Eligibility
- Can handle confidential financial information in a professional manner
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, plus demonstrated professional accounting experience
- Strong track record in accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, payment allocation and reconciliations
- Experience in month-end accounting, journals and financial reporting
- Working knowledge of Australian accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills
- Hands-on use of accounting and financial management software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail
- Able to work independently and contribute effectively to a wider team
- Background in NDIS, aged care, Support at Home or government-funded receivables: highly regarded
- Quotes, service agreements and funding schedules experience: advantageous
- Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and Nurses Award: advantageous
- Payroll processes and Employment Hero experience: advantageous
- CPA or CA qualification, or progress toward obtaining one: advantageous
- Able to satisfy Australian employment and applicable sponsorship requirements; employer sponsorship available for the right candidate
