An established restaurant in Woolloongabba, Brisbane needs a Qualified Chef for its professional culinary team. This is a role where your training, practical experience and kitchen ability are genuinely valued.

What you will be cooking: traditional Italian and Roman cuisine, fresh handmade pasta and carefully selected local and international produce, in a busy dining operation. What is expected: consistency, discipline and pride at every service, alongside an experienced kitchen team, while you keep developing your skills.

You need a proven background in quality-driven restaurant or hotel kitchens. Treat any request for money with suspicion: a genuine employer will never ask you to pay for a job offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete mise en place efficiently ahead of service and help with handmade pasta and fresh ingredient preparation
  • Cook traditional Italian and Roman-style dishes, applying classical culinary techniques across the menu
  • Prepare and cook dishes to the established recipes and quality standards
  • Watch food quality throughout prep and service so that quality and presentation stay consistent from start to finish
  • Stick to set portion sizes and presentation standards
  • Support the kitchen through daily lunch and dinner operations
  • Keep up the pace during busy, high-volume service periods
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace procedures, keeping your workstation clean, organised and professional
  • Help with stock preparation and general kitchen organisation
  • Communicate clearly with chefs and kitchen colleagues and support a positive, professional team culture

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years as a Qualified Chef in a professional kitchen
  • Culinary qualification that is relevant, or a recognised trade certificate
  • Track record in a quality-focused restaurant or hotel
  • Strong practical skills in cooking and food preparation, and the ability to produce dishes consistently to professional standards
  • Understands classical cooking techniques and has a genuine interest in Italian cuisine and traditional cooking methods
  • Can perform effectively when the kitchen is high-volume
  • Strong communicator and team worker who is reliable and professional
  • Good at organisation and managing time
  • Can multitask and still keep attention to detail
  • Willing to learn and develop inside an experienced culinary team
  • Able to work the scheduled lunch and dinner services
